SEEKING 2 x NHT BOARD MEMBERS- Voluntary Positions

New Horizons Tasmania (NHT) is a volunteer based non-for-profit organisation providing life-affirming inclusive sport and recreation programs for people with disability across Tasmania through mainstream sporting and community partnerships since 1986. People with disability are at the heart of all planning and decision-making, ensuring the most effective outcomes from NHT’s programs.

The Board of NHT is seeking expressions of interest for two Elected Directors to fill recent casual vacancies. One of the persons appointed will hold office until the AGM in November 2022, the other until the AGM in November 2023.

These appointments are at a crucial time for NHT as it secured grant funding last year to further expand its operations state-wide, with a particular focus on the North-West region, and developing existing critical peer support networks over the next 24 months.

NHT is committed to a skills-based Board and diversity mix. Applicants who can bring additional skills and experience to benefit the organisation would be welcomed.

Desirable skills, but not limited to, are as follows.

  • Governance
  • Lived Experience with Disability
  • Risk and Compliance, and/or
  • Sponsorship and Corporate Sector.

Both positions on the Board are voluntary.

It is highly recommended that potential applicants read the information pack that can be downloaded below. This contains a Director position description, the Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2020/21, and the Strategic Plan 2019/23.

For further information about the vacancies, please contact Penny Nicholls on 0417 398131 or email:
