NHT: THE SPORT & REC CLUB WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Sport, Recreation, and simply making EVERYONE welcome to participate has the power to build communities and change lives. New Horizons has been leading the way in inclusive sport and recreation in Tasmania since 1986.
Membership is open to people with any disability (intellectual, physical, spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders and more), from ages 5 and up and their families. For information on how to join, please click here.
Programs are usually volunteer led and many are run in conjunction with local, state and national partner groups.
Depending on the season, NHT run approximately 20 programs per week, however we anticipate that our program offerings in the NW and Southern regions will expand rapidly this year.
In addition to our Sport & Rec programs, NHT host carnivals, social functions (including our monthly Dinner Club) and interstate sporting trips.
Supported by an NDIS ILC grant, In 2022, NHT are delighted to now have program coordinators working in Launceston, Hobart and on the North-West Coast. A volunteer branch also operates in Scottsdale, running a weekly activity.
See our timetable here for a full list of sports and activities.
TESTIMONIALS
I often get asked by people: what is New Horizons Club like?
My response is always the same: it is a beautiful community of people who all share a desire to make the most of opportunities; it is a place that all members can belong and be their best.DON ELGIN

Belinda (Boss) Kitto, you are so amazing. Thank you for helping AFL Tas to organise and run this carnival. I guarantee this carnival would not have gone ahead without the amazing work Belinda put it.ALAN (Dingo) DENGATE
