New Horizons Tasmania (NHT) is a volunteer based non-for-profit organisation providing life-affirming inclusive sport and recreation programs for people with disability across Tasmania through mainstream sporting and community partnerships since 1986. People with disability are at the heart of all planning and decision-making, ensuring the most effective outcomes from NHT’s programs.

The Board of NHT is seeking expressions of interest for two appointed Directors in a casual capacity. The persons appointed will hold office until the conclusion of the AGM in November 2022.

These appointments come at a crucial time for NHT as it has recently secured grant funding to further expand its operations state-wide, with a particular focus on the North West region, and developing existing critical peer support networks over the next 24 months.

NHT is committed to a skills-based Board and diversity mix and is actively seeking persons who bring additional skills and experience to those of existing Directors in the following areas:

    • Disability Sector,
    • Finance, Risk and Compliance, and/or
    • Sponsorship and Corporate Sector.

People living in the North-West region and Southern Tasmania are strongly encouraged to apply.

Both positions on the Board are voluntary. The appointed persons will be working alongside the existing Board and shall be expected to contribute to the work program to realise its vision and mission outlined in NHT’s Strategic Plan 2019/23.

It is highly recommended that potential applicants read the information pack that can be downloaded below. This contains a Director position description, the Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2019/20, and the Strategic Plan 2019/23.
