Sunny comes to NHT with a background in journalism. Sunny grew up and went to school in Launceston and has been a journalist for nearly 25 years. She studied Journalism at the University of Melbourne and the University of South Africa and has lived and worked all over the world – including Johannesburg, Belgium, Sydney and Singapore.
As a journalist, Sunny spent most of her career writing for garden and home magazines about beautiful houses, decorating and interiors. This led her to open a homewares store in Launceston in 2018, called ‘At Home With Sunny’. She closed the shop prior to the global Covid-pandemic but continues to run the online store (www.athomewithsunny.com). In addition to her role with NHT, Sunny also has her own millinery label – ‘Millinery by Sunny’ – making hats and fascinators, namely for the racing season and the bridal industry.
Sunny has three wonderful children (as well as a chihuahua, five cats, two chickens and two bunnies…) and when she’s not at work, you’ll find her at home enjoying her passion for gardening or reading (she always has three books on the go at once!) In her spare time, Sunny paints portraits and adores exploring her love of cooking. She also loves singing, playing the piano, drinking red wine, doing anything crafty and learning new languages (she currently speaks six!)
