Justin Nilon

Assistant Sport & Recreation Coordinator - North / North East

Justin joined NHT as a member in 2014 when he was in Year 12. Born and raised in Launceston, Justin has always had a passion for sport – and inclusion. He says since joining NHT, sport and inclusion have become even more important to him and have played a huge role in enabling him to become the person he is today. Justin says he feels extremely fortunate to be in this role – and not just because he loves sport so much! Growing up, the importance of family was instilled in him from a young age – and like many of our staff members, Justin says that NHT is like a second family to him. Furthermore, the amazing friendships, connections and relationships he has developed are ones that he is certain will remain throughout his life.

Justin lives just outside of Launceston in the town of Perth, with his partner Sophie and their rescue greyhound, Blaze. Justin is a passionate sports fan, with cricket, AFL and soccer being his favourites. He’s a keen Sydney Swans supporter, loves following Liverpool FC and enjoys watching the Aussie cricket team play. When he’s not at work or on the sports field himself, Justin likes to stay active at the gym, play his PlayStation or head out on the water and go fishing. You might also catch a glimpse of him walking (or rather, running) Blaze the greyhound on the streets of Perth!

Justin always has a smile at the ready and is forever making us laugh with his quick wit and great sense of humour – he is a true asset to NHT. Together he and Tom are a fantastic team, making it a joy for our North and North East members to participate in the many sport and recreation programs they co-ordinate and facilitate.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognize and celebrate their enduring connection to land, waters, and culture.
